About the Role:


As the Supplier Development Manager, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing strong, reliable, and cost-effective supplier relationships. Your primary focus will be on optimizing our purchasing processes, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of goods and services, and driving continuous improvement within our supplier base. You will work closely with suppliers to enhance their capabilities, mitigate risks, and contribute to our overall operational efficiency and profitability.


Responsibilities:


Supplier Relationship Management:

 

·      Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers in Europe.

·      Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic suppliers and manage communication effectively.

·      Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to monitor quality, delivery, cost, and service levels.

·      Address supplier-related issues and proactively work towards resolution.


Purchasing Process Optimization:

 

·      Support the implementation and adherence to global purchasing policies and procedures within the European context.

·      Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize risks in the procurement process.

·      Collaborate with the Operations Manager in Germany and other relevant departments to streamline purchasing workflows.


Supplier Development & Performance Improvement:

 

·      Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers in Europe based on quality, cost, reliability, and ethical standards.

·      Develop and implement supplier development programs to improve supplier capabilities in areas such as quality management, production efficiency, and sustainability.

·      Monitor and track supplier performance against agreed-upon targets and KPIs.

·      Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance their performance and align with our business needs.


• Risk Management & Compliance:


·      Identify and assess potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.

·      Ensure supplier compliance with relevant regulations, quality standards, and ethical guidelines.

·      Participate in supplier audits and assessments as required.


Reporting & Communication:

 

·      Prepare regular reports on supplier performance, purchasing activities, and cost savings initiatives for stakeholders and Germany.

·      Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager in Germany and other internal teams on supplier-related matters.


Qualifications:


·      Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

·      Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in procurement, supplier management, or a related role within the market.

·      Strong understanding of purchasing principles, negotiation techniques, and contract management.

·      Experience in supplier evaluation, qualification, and development.

·      Knowledge of quality management systems and auditing processes.

·      Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

·      Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

·      Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

·      Proficiency in relevant procurement software and tools.

·      Fluency in English is essential. German language skills are an advantage.
